I've never been to America, it's all pretty fictional to me but if moving to NY from LA has any similarity to moving to LDN from BN1, then I can totally relate. So fittingly to the city for the sea side exchange, her music has returned to the sunny safe side too. This makes so much sense and I love listening to BC whilst picturing the American dream where "I had a pizza and a bottle of wine" (LOL) and get high on a surfboard with Zachy Effron or with these guys:

It's so easy for the haterz to construct the following smug equation about BC :
[ (blah blah lo-fi blah blah fuzzy blah blah + blah blah reverb blah blah blah) x (blah two chords blah blah blah blah + blah blah blah she wasn't even around in the 60s blah blah) ] x (blah blah blah cos she's female) = rip-off beach punk blah blah Vivian Girls blah blah.....oh snooooze, bullshit! There's no need to re-invent music so why the hell not, music is supposed to be fun and plus, she rhymes "crazy" with "lazy", that's cool and it sure beats the psychedelic jesus sitting around moaning about not being able to find the new sound.

When I'm With You came out on a 7" last week on Black Iris. I checked out Black Iris and whilst Best Coast seems the only thing worth listening to on that label, they have a pretty cool visual continuity for their 7" sleeves worth pointing out. Anyway listen to the song HERE and imagine AMERICA "Y'ALL"....KCYA!
